music to my ears.

I actually have lots of content for this section, however, I am still "re-coding" it. Actually, it would be more proper to say that I am de-coding it from it's last iteration.

Howard's Radio Daze
OK, I can admit it, I used to work in Radio.
Actually, I did it for quite a long time (10 years). Usually, when the subject of my love of music and interest in broadcasting comes up, and someone learns that I used to work as a disc-jockey, they inevitably ask me to "do my radio voice". Well that kind of puts me on the spot, especially since I don't do that anymore, so I advise them to check my web site and listen to the real thing. Here is the link you have been looking for...

Kauai Community Radio
This is what I listen to all day long when I am relaxing in Hanalei. Kauai Community Radio (KKCR) is the only community based non-commercial radio station on the Hawaiian Islands. Music heard on KKCR reflects the broad spectrum of Kauai's community. Programming includes Hawaiian, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Reggae, Classical and World artists. KKCR is a project of the non-profit Kekahu Foundation. KKCR is a member of the Pacifica Network providing national news with the kind of slant I like.  Besides, it is the only station that really comes in.... so you better like it!

Reel Radio Top 40 Repository
This is a totally cool site with air checks from lots of great jocks and stations across the nation. I have a bit of an interest in this type of stuff considering my past.

All-Music Guide
This  has all kinds of information about music and musical groups. You could spend some serious time here so you best only go there if you have some serious surfin' time on your hands... or you got that dam Barry Manilow song stuck in your head again ...'Her name was Lola...'

440 International
This is a web site that is dedicated to Radio, Radio people and stuff like that. It is quite slow, but interesting none the less, especially if you had a lonely childhood like mine and your only friend was the radio -- Sad, kinda like that Helen Ready song "Angie Baby"... but I digress.

Kiss This Guy
Archive of Misheard Song Lyrics. um, 'glorified version of a pelican'? 'Pardon me while I kiss this guy?' Sound familiar? Lets hope not, at any rate, hopefully you will get it all straightened out here.

Steely Dan
This is the official website for the band Steely Dan.  Not sure what it was, but right from the start, I really liked the sound of this group.  They blend elements of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, and pop. Their music is characterized by complex jazz-influenced structures and harmonies, literate and sometimes obscure or ambiguous lyrics filled with dark sarcasm, and their adroit musicianship and studio perfectionism.  Anne says some of their stuff sounds too perfect ... but really, how could that ever be?  : )

My Birthday
Here are a few pictures from my birthday this year... I like to keep it low key.

Ice Fishing
It's cold up here, what are we supposed to do when the temp gets up to zero? We go a little goofy...

Christmas 2007
Lots of festive action in the northwoods. Turkey and cookies. Presents and goodwill towards men. Still working on the peace on earth thing, but I think we have a shot!

Kauai Vacation
Try to imagine a place better then the north shore of a tropical island paradise... Does your brain hurt? It should.

Minocqua Autumn
The Chill is in the Air... and the boats are out of the water for the summer. It is going to be a long winter!
